Chanel Welcomes Kristen Stewart
When Stewart was spotted in the airport Monday night, the rumor mill began to spin with where she could be headed. Turns out she was headed to Chanel's Metiers d’Art fashion show at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas.
For the face of Chanel's first public appearance for the French fashion house, she wore a pair of high-waisted, wide leg, pumpkin colored leather drawstring trousers, a cropped gray blouse, a charcoal gray sweater tied around her waist with nude pointy toe pumps peeking out her pants. She topped the look off with her usual tousled waves, smoky eye makeup, and pout.
Artistic director Karl Lagerfeld staged the show in Dallas as a thank you to the city for how well Coco Chanel was treated when she visited in 1957 at the invitation of Stanley Marcus, head of Neiman Marcus. Lagerfeld channeled the western-themed catwalk thrown in her honor turning a hall at art deco venue Fair Park into a barn with a hay-scattered runway.
Stewart joins Blake Lively, Kiera Knightley, and Diane Kruger who have also fronted ad campaigns for Lagerfeld. Stewart's campaign will debut in May. She still is the face of Balenciaga’s Florabotanica.
We wonder how she'll handle being the face of two separate brands. Wear Chanel on the red carpet but smell like Balenciaga, maybe?
