Charlotte Ronson Fall 2014

DESIGNER: Charlotte Ronson
INSPIRATION: According to the designer’s Instagram this collection was “a fairytale fantasy come true.” Her overall theme spoke to purveyors of downtown chic who aren’t shy about romanticizing their looks with red kisses emblazoned across velvet dresses and paisley prints to counter badass biker jackets. It was also a welcome departure from Ronson’s normally super-sweet looks with plenty of options for the sultry, vampy, black-on-black kind of girl.
PALETTE: Black, violet, navy, deep red.
TRENDS: Poppy prints, velvet, sheer panels, horizontal stripes, paisley, head-to-toe prints, leather (as clothing and harnesses), midi-length hemlines, headbands.
WHO WAS THERE: Angela Simmons, Mariska Hargitay, Jamie Chung, Nick Jonas, Paris Hilton, sister Samantha Ronson.
WHO SHOULD WEAR IT: Jessica Alba, Rachel Zoe, NYC It-girls like Hannah Bronfman and Chelsea Leyland
PLAYLIST: “Peace Train” by Cat Stevens, “The Mother We Share” by CHVRCHES
