The saying goes ... "Art often imitates real life," but what do you call a case of art imitating... art? Claire Danesis Vogue's cover subject for August in a metallic trench coat and inside the glossy is channeling her character on Showtime's Homeland, CIA agent Carrie Mathison.
Famed photographer Annie Leibovitz shot Carrie, er, Claire for her second Vogue cover (the first was back in July 1998). Danes and her Homeland co-star Damian Lewis posed in what appears to be the set of the series, in various official capacities which we most likely have to wait until Season 3 premieres on September 29, 2013 to understand. The My So-Called Life actress details what it's like to be a new mother on a high profile show. "I went on the red carpet, went upstairs, went back to feed Cyrus, went out again... Then it was 'Now you meet the president.'"
Don't you just love the way Danes has been able to re-invent herself with age? On top of the Carrie x Claire moment, Daft Punk is teased on the cover of the Age issue, leading us to believe this magazine could include the shoot with Karlie Kloss. We'll see when the issue hits newsstands!
