Beyonce isn’t the only one with an enviable tour wardrobe. (Remember all of that hoopla she caused with her sartorial stage choices?) Some stylish fellas are getting in on the action with a few of our favorite designers.
Drake took the stage for his Would You Like a Tour show rocking customized Calvin Klein collection looks inspired by Italo Zucchelli’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection, a light blue denim hooded shirt, matching tank and cargo pants and a white reflective tank and track pants.
“It all started with a conversation about Drake’s new album cover featuring him and a blue sky with clouds in the background,” the men's director for Calvin Klein, Zucchelli told Billboard. “He is very real and unaffected and that’s the side of him I wanted to amplify for his stage clothes.”
Speaking of amplifying for the stage purposes: enter Mr. Kanye West clothed in Maison Martin Margiela as he rants on his Yeezus tour. Don’t worry, MMM is okay with it.
“We didn’t pay attention to what is being said about him in the press, we just focused on what could be done with him,” Maison Martin Margiela told British Vogue. “We have wanted to work with Kanye West for a very long time, ever since he become a close friend of the Maison; supporting us a lot and coming to our shows. We like his music and the vision he had for the tour.”
Justin Timberlake hasn’t been quiet about his support for Tom Ford, perhaps, like West and MMM, the designer wanted to show his appreciation in the form of a tour wardrobe. Tom Ford will dress JT in eight custom looks, his band and dancers for The 20/20 experience kicking off on October 6th in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center.
“Justin has a great personal style and knows what he wants which makes designing for him and absolute pleasure,” Ford said in a release. “He has a tremendous talent and has a kind of effortless cool that makes classic menswear tailoring modern.”
Let’s hear it for the boys, hm?
