Womenswear designer Christopher Kane is certainly not one to rest on his laurels. Having established himself as a designer of note and touched on the idea of leather goods, it would seem he's beginning to put the pieces into place for a collection of a larger scale.
"I'd love to see a Christopher Kane bag, a staple that could carry on for five years, 10 years," Kane told Women's Wear Daily. "We have a rich archive of leathers and fabrics that could easily fall into a bag category."
He and his sister slash business partner, Tammy Kane, haven't confirmed the move into leather handbags is definite. Though, they are very interested. "Everyone knows that me and Tammy take things slow. It's going to be a constant investigation--and if the product's not right, we'll hold off," he told the Telegraph.
In any event, we're sure the wait will be well worth it. Kane's neon and liquid clutch bags were well-received so if that's any indication of what's to come...we're already envisioning how we'll work Kane's leather goods into our wardrobe.
