Beyoncé, Jay Z, and Solange Knowles may have moved past their unfortunate elevator fiasco, but the world isn’t done poking fun at the otherwise private clan. Last night’s Country Music Awards was no exception.
Although the Nashville ceremony was packed with great performances from Carrie Underwoodand Miranda Lambert and unexpected cameos from John Legend and Jason Derulo, it was the opener that (almost) stole the show.
Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbardand Brian Kelley teamed up with host Kristen Bell to make light of the Knowles-Carter’s post-Met Gala incident. Of course, it conjured up images of Bey (awkwardly?) not interfering in her sister’s Standard Hotel assault, but at least this country star rendition made us laugh a little. Too soon?
Either way, the trio have made up and issued a public statement on their family drama, so hopefully, there’s no extra harm done—even if what happens in the elevator doesn’t stay there.
