Cuba Gooding Jr. Unwinds After His SAG Awards Stage Storm
What’s a man to do after bum rushing the stage at the Screen Actors Guild Awards? On Saturday evening, Cuba Gooding Jr. interrupted Ben Affleck’s closing remarks by running to the microphone and shouting “Happy MLK! Happy MLK weekend!” and then he partied on. Throughout the show, the actor liberally poured a magnum of champagne for his table-mates; he was clearly up for a celebration. Gooding hit up the Weinstein Company and Netflix bash at the Sunset Tower before moving on for a nightcap.
Gooding unwound from the excitement at the Petit Ermitage in West Hollywood. “What a night we had!,” he exclaimed as he made his way to the boutique hotel’s private rooftop. The 1997 SAG Award winner, who appeared in Oprah Winfrey and Lee Daniels’ The Butler, had been up for Best Cast in a Motion Picture this time around. Though American Hustle won, Gooding was in good spirits as he put things into perspective– “at least we were nominated for this one.”
