Balenciaga’s big moment didn’t end with Kerry Washington in a custom gown at Sunday night’s 71st annual Golden Globes. Today, the French fashion house has revealed its Spring 2014 campaign starring Daria Werbowy, Women’s Wear Daily reports.
Perhaps a reward to Werbowy for her exclusivity during Paris Fashion Week, only appearing in Wang’s wears? Steven Klein shot the model posed against what appears to be the siding of a suburban home, complete with tangled ivy vines crawling up around the model.
“I wanted to convey a sense of strength and knowingness. Daria is definitely not naïve," Alexander Wang told WWD. It should be noted that the creative director thought the “creeping plants and prominent shadows add a touch of mystery and dark attraction.”
We agree with Mr. Wang there! Um, we'd always like deets on the lipstick, stat! Does this mean we can keep our vampy lips come Spring?
