While she's no longer a newbie on the scene, Misha Nonoo is definitely working on making a name for herself. The London-born designer debuted her collection in Fall 2011 at New York Fashion Week, and was a finalist for the 2013 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. She's currently part of the CFDA Fashion Incubator Program, which basically means that the best is yet to come from this talented artist. Her collections are sophisticated and wearable, and packed with unique details that set Nonoo aside from the rest. As she tackles the craziest time of the year and puts the finishing touches on her Fall 2015 collection, Nonoo found the time to document a day in her pre-Fashion Week life. With the show just around the corner, all that's left for her to do is send those models down the runway—and you bet we'll be watching.
I wake-up and instantly make a cup of green tea. I can’t function without a cup of tea. I feed my dog, Thatcher, and catch up on some emails.
Thatcher and I go on walk, and I’ll catch up on emails and read Business of Fashion on my iPhone.
Take a shower and get dressed. My routine includes Ling’s Hydrator, Bobbi Brown mascara, and NARS body oil.
I just traveled to Bhutan and received an incredible recipe for an energy chai tea and banana smoothie. This will be my staple Fashion Week breakfast.
Ride the subway to work while I read WWD on the iPhone app.
Arrive at work. Let the emails begin!
Weekly team meeting with coffee and donuts, where we review the tasks for the big and exciting week ahead!
I review each team member’s weekly to-do list to make sure each department is on track and getting the support they need.
Meet with my design team and my stylist to review the FW15 runway samples, make any necessary changes and create looks. Hopefully, we can add a couple fit to confirms today as well. I love this part!
Eat a quick lunch. I always eat at my desk whilst answering emails and catching up on correspondence.
Meet with my production team to review the music and pacing chart for the show. We have a big surprise this season.
E-commerce meeting about launching the Spring 2015 collection. Our e-commerce is 2 months old. It’s a whole new world, and I am kind of addicted.
Costing and line review with my sales and production team.
Write thank you notes.
Time for a little mid day humor. The Fat Jewish or F*ck Jerry on Instagram are my go-tos.
Meeting with my CFDA Incubator mentor, Kyle Andrews, to get advice on my runway concept for FW15.
Back to the office to regroup with the team and answer any emails from the day.
Make sure my hair, make up, and nail inspiration boards are finished for our test tomorrow.
Unwind with a documentary or a good book. Tonight I’ll be watching Virunga on Netflix. I just finished Sheryl Sandberg’s Lean In, which was life changing.
Off to sleep.
