Day in the Life of Beauty: Dr. Debra Luftman, Simple Advisory Board Member
Glam looked in on Dr. Debra Luftman as she handles a full roster of patients, answers questions for beauty editors, and preps for the recently held Women's Health Conference — all while keeping her own skin in top shape thanks to Simple. Here she shares her busy schedule:

I start my day waking up to a beautiful Calabasas, California morning. I make myself a cup of Nespresso coffee and sit out on my patio, eating a light breakfast of oatmeal or vanilla Greek yogurt with berries.

I arrive at my office. My morning ritual starts when I turn on my computer. I always apply my favorite pink lip gloss, put on my white coat, and do my rounds with my office staff wishing them a good day…and I am off and ready to see my patients.

I take a break between patients to read pathology slides. This is an important time to diagnose skin cancers, rashes, and skin infections.

Time for lunch. Today I have a meeting at Marmalade in the Calabasas Commons with a Beauty Editor to discuss the latest anti-aging treatments.

I see more patients. I have an opportunity to educate my patients on skin care, skin cancer prevention, and general healthy living tips.

I review my PowerPoint presentation on the talk I am preparing for the Women’s Health Conference. My slides highlight concepts from the book I co-wrote, The Beauty Prescription.

I am home! My Golden Retriever is waiting for me. I immediately change into my lululemon SPF shirt and leggings, put on my hat and sunglasses, Nike tennis shoes and we are off for a hike. The combination of being with my dog surrounded by the natural beauty of the Santa Monica Mountains immediately melts my stress away.

Back at the Ranch. I am lucky to have married a man who loves to cook. Tonight my husband made me a cedar barbecued salmon and a bevy of vegetables. Salmon gives me my important helping of Omega Fatty Acids, which is essential for maintaining beautiful healthy skin.

Wipe my face with Simple’s Cleansing Wipes. It’s important to remove all the makeup and daily grime from my skin before I go to sleep, in order to avoid break outs.

My husband and I watch a few TiVo'd episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles.

I start winding down with a cup of chamomile tea and honey, and catch up on reading my dermatology journals.

Watch the news to find out what happened today outside of my local world.

After a long and productive day it’s time to get some rest. Sleep is essential for maintaining both health and beauty.
