In the midst of the many changes happening at Vince, including the departure of co-founders Rea Laccone and Christopher LaPolice, Doo Ri Chung was named the brand’s new creative director. Chosen by newly hired CEO Jill Granoff, Chung will assist Granoff in unleashing Vince’s potential as a global lifestyle brand after leaving her eponymous label last year. According to Women’s Wear Daily, she is set to oversee design, product development, and creative branding initiatives for the L.A. label. Granoff believes Chung’s technical aesthetic and intricate, contemporary design can help transition the knitwear brand into something more and Chung seems up to the challenge. “I’ve long admired the [Vince] brand because of its loyal customer following and its modern design sensibility,” said Chung.
