Dries Van Noten Fall 2014
DESIGNER: Dries Van Noten
INSPIRATION: Titled “Couturama,” the collection had a 70s flair and combined funky prints and colors with a level of sophistication and chicness.
TRENDS: Prepare yourself for the prints this collection has to offer, from kaleidoscope patterns, large hibiscus blossoms, bold stripes, artistic swirls, bright squares, and multi-ring circles. As for the pieces themselves, calf-grazing skirts and boxy blouses seemed to be the ensemble of choice, with oversized outerwear, belted wool coats, ruffled edges, and retro sunglasses also proving to be reoccurring themes.
PALETTE: Plum purple, orchid, fuchsia, black, silver, lime, yellow, navy, orange, copper, blue, emerald green, cerulean, grey.
WHO WAS THERE: Hanne Gaby Odiele on the runway, Anna Wintour sitting front row.
WHO SHOULD WEAR IT: Ladies who dress with their mind on tropical getaways, colorful sites, and artistic destinations even in the dead of winter.
