As if eBay wasn't tempting enough already.
Further blurring the lines between online shopping and window shopping, the online retailer is planning to launch four virtual stores called “shoppable windows” in New York City - specifically in SoHo and the Lower East Side from June 8 through July 7. “My nickname for it is the Wall as a Mall," joked eBay's chief executive, William McComb.
The "windows" will allow customers to browse products including 30 items from Kate Spade Saturday, click to buy on the spot, and receive their purchases in under an hour by courier.
Hello, immediate gratification.
And if you think this news couldn't get any better, prepare yourself. The windows will be available to use 24 hours a day, meaning when you're walking home late at night and spot a dress you just must-have, you'll be able to satiate that desire, even if the store's closed.
