In our Little Black Book Series, our editors are giving up the goods and sharing their absolute favorite, must-visit spots where they primp and preen to get ready for fashion week. Check out Editorial Assistant, Channing's, picks below:

Fall 2013 is a very special fashion week for me, in that it marks my first NYFW, as an actual New Yorker (woot woot!). When I would cover shows for my blog in previous seasons, I would do all my prep work back in my hometown so that by the time I made it to the city, I could hit the ground running. This season, I’m really excited to use all New York establishments to get ready.

Drybar, multiple locations- Recently I’ve gone completely natural—for brown girls’ that means sans chemicals—and the stylists at Drybar get my hair to behave perfectly. I’m all for it.

Polish Bar Brooklyn, 470 Myrtle Avenue, Brooklyn NY- It’s hard not to feel like a glam girl when you’re sitting on a plush pink comfy couch getting a pedicure. When it comes to manicures, the technicians are always well versed on the latest nail trends.

Blink Brow Bar, Henri Bendel 712 5th Ave New York, NY- Because I was cursed, er, blessed with my father’s two-inch busy eyebrows, they need to be beaten into submission so I’m not shooed out from under the tents. The women who do the threading here are, in short, magicians.

Duane Reade, multiple locations- I like to pick up Dr. Scholls For Her High Heel Insert, I’m short and like the height heels give me, but there is only some much shoe-icide one can take. When it gets bad, I pop these babies on and my feet feel as good as new.

Whole Foods, multiple locations- Stock up on snacks, It’s pretty easy to actually forget to eat during Fashion Week festivities, so a couple days before I go to Whole Foods and stock up on water, snack bars and gum to keep in my bag.
