Editor’s Pick: 3 Hairstyles That Got Us Through Fashion Week

To say New York Fashion Week is hectic would be an understatement. And trust us, the irony of a jam-packed schedule with little sleep during the one week you’re supposed to look your most fabulous doesn’t escape us! When it came to our hair during the event, we wanted no-muss, no-fuss, with an element of sophistication. Since February Fashion Week was chilly, we took advantage of the lack of humidity and chose to rock sleek styles all week. Bone-straight was the way to go, and we created three looks from one hairdo. Here’s how we did it.

Day One
We washed and conditioned our locks with TRESemmé 7 Day Keratin Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner. Our goal: smooth, straight, easy-to-style hair. Before we blow-dried and flatironed our hair, we applied TRESemmé 7 Day Keratin Smooth Heat Activated Treatment for salon-smoothness that will last up to 1 week or through 3 washes.
Tip: A great flatiron is a must for pin-straight hair – we love this one by Sedu!

Day Two
We woke up, and our hair was still straight and sleek, without any frizz to be seen. Even after pulling on and off our hats during day one, we were shocked at how little frizz we found. We sprayed our roots with TRESemmé Fresh Start Renewal Dry Shampoo to refresh and revive our second-day hair. To get the look, section off hair at the crown for a half-up, half-down style. You can secure the top section of your hair with a mini elastic or bobby pins, or create a mini bun.
Tip: When using bobby pins, push them into your hair with the wavy side down. Don’t use your teeth to open the pins—bobby pins are meant to slide right into hair.

Day Three
You guessed it—when we woke up, our hair was still sleek and smooth. After using the flatiron to quickly straighten some loose waves, we sprayed Fresh Start Renewal Dry Shampoo [WU2] onto our roots and grabbed TRESemmé Keratin Infusing Smooth Serum. Rub the formula in your palms and apply to the bottom half of your locks. Gather hair into a low ponytail and secure with an elastic matching your hair color, or wrap a strand from your pony around the elastic and secure with a bobby pin under the nape of your neck. After seeing this smooth pony backstage at Vivienne Tam, we definitely wanted to try it for ourselves.
