Olfactory fanatics and Brad Pitt devotees are in for an exciting release, as the Hollywood star is teaming up with Chanel No.5 as the first male face of the iconic women’s eau de parfum, according to Women's Wear Daily. He's joining a cast of celebrities like Vanessa Paradis, Nicole Kidman, Catherine Denevue, and Audrey Tautou to name a few. While the details from the campaign are almost mum, Chanel Fragrance & Beauty president Andrea d’Avack, delivered the basic plot of the upcoming commercial. “To keep a legend fresh, you always have to change its point of view,” d’Avack told the publication. “We think very much that the perfume is a seduction between a man, a woman and the perfume.”
In the video directed by Joe Wright, who has worked with Chanel and Keira Knightly for Coco Mademoiselle, Pitt speaks in a way that seems he’s talking to a woman, but it turns out that the addressee is the scent itself. We won’t have long to wait as the advert is set to launch globally on October 15th while the print ads will hit newsstands in the November issues of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle magazines.
