Katy Perry was on fire for the Superbowl XLIX Halftime Show, channeling Katniss Everdeen atop a giant mechanical lion for her opening number. Perry amplified her four Jeremy Scott-designed looks with help from her go-to makeup guru, Jake Bailey, who crafted a glittering cat eye and a punchy red pout for the big show while hairstylist Clyde Haygood pumped up her ponytail. Glam got all the beauty buys and top tips from the glam squad so you can shine at your next soiree:

Haygood started by spritzing Perry’s strands with KMS California FREESHAPE 2-in-1 Styling + Finishing Spray. He then created an S wave by curling five three-inch sections with a two-inch curling iron. He then pulled her back into a tight ponytail at the crown of her head, slicking it back with the brand’s HAIRSTAY Styling Gel for hold and shine. Haygood attached extensions to her ponytail for added length and volume. He smoothed the ponytail’s strands with a dollop of KMS California HAIRPLAY gel wax to tame any last minute flyaways before she took to the stage.

Bailey began by evening her tone with CoverGirl Outlast 3-in-1 Foundation in Natural Beige before creating an elongated cat eye with the Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner in Black Onyx. He added a bit of sparkle with a mix of gold and silver glitter applied to a thin strip of adhesive just above the black liner. He then contoured the eye with the Blooming Blushes Eyeshadow Quad for warmth and dimension before curling the lashes, and adding two coats of mascara and filling in her brows. For a fresh flush, Bailey dusted her cheeks with the Clean Glow Blush in Roses, graduating from the lighter shades on the apples to the darker tones for the hollows. He then lined her lips with the Lip Perfection Lip Liner in Hot and then layered a coat of the Colorlicious Lipstick in Seduce Scarlet under a dollop of the Lip Lava in Mauva Lava.
