While we're not always the most up-to-date on sports events, we're making it a point to stay on top of the ongoings of the World Cup. After all, it only takes place once every four years and there happens to be statuesque international athletes involved. Plus, Brazil has especially piqued our interest in the games with a fashion-focused announcement…or two.
We already reported that Louis Vuitton will be outfitting the World Cup trophy, but now we know that Gisele Bündchen will be the one presenting it at the closing ceremony at the Maracana Mario Filho Stadium in Rio de Janiero. The Brazilian supermodel is stepping in for Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff, who’s facing scrutiny over how much money the country has spent on World Cup festivities when so many of its citizens are living in poverty. Whatever the reason, consider us officially interested. As long as Bündchen, her insurmountable beauty and an LV-encased trophy are involved, we can consider ourselves football fans.
