Giuseppe Zanotti Could Collaborate with Kanye West Again, After All

Well, I will eat my words. I thought when LVMH acquired stake in Guiseppe Zanotti that meant that Kanye Westcould kiss his chance to collaborate with the Italian shoe again designer goodbye.

I was wrong, sort-of.

In honor of his 20th anniversary, the shoe designer is launching four capsule collections that will be released throughout the year celebrating a distinct characteristic of the brand, Women’s Wear Daily is reporting. The first collection, Jewel, consists of six pairs of sandals, each tied to a personal memory of his. One of the sandals, Cruel Summer was inspired by a dinner with West.

“I met Kanye in Milan during a charity event,” Guiseppe Zanotti told Fashionista. “He’s very sweet, very sensitive and sometimes dangerous because he’s so sensitive. He’s a good guy. Good heart. He’s a poet. We met twice and then he asked to come into my maison because he wanted to understand the process of [creating a] collection of shoes and design. We started something elegant for his runway and then we did something else—sneakers—together. He taught me something, I taught him something. Also, I showed him my archives of records and he sang something for me, for my team. It was good synergy, exchange of sensation and love.”

So, again, I say, we may not have seen the last of Zanotti and Mr. West.

As for the rest of the capsule collections, following Jewel, we can expect Rock ‘n’ Roll, Black Stilettos, and Disco to be released in September, November and February 2015, respectively.
