Givenchy Opts Out of Couture Week in January
Editors will have one less appointment on their calendars at Couture Week this year, as Givenchy just canceled its fashion show. Though the brand is not planning to discontinue its couture focus in future seasons, the fashion house is eschewing a showing this season and simply working with private clients directly at the salon. In recent seasons, Riccardo Tisci moved towards a new method of displaying his collections – showcasing his creations with models in presentation form rather than in the normal fashion show format. It is curious that he would opt out of showing the Givenchy couture line to press entirely during the year he's set to host the annual Met Ball.
