Last night I was backstage at the Loewe runway show, and I couldn't help but notice just how many people were there with me.
Between the models, the journalists, the hair team, the makeup team, the manicure/pedicure team, the caterers, the design team, the PR team, the security guards, the student dressers, and friends and family of the designer, for the first time ever, I started to feel incredibly claustrophobic.
Bear in mind, this photo shows only 1/3 of the room. The dressing room was at the other end of the space (far out of reach of my lens to accurately show you the amount of people there), and the bulk of the Redken hairstyling team were working diligently behind me. I'm guessing there were a good 200 bodies back there helping get 30 models ready for their turn on the catwalk.
I've been backstage at hundreds of runway shows around the globe, but never have I ever stopped and observed how many people it takes to make a runway show successful. Just wanted to share that random thought with you all.
