The bride-to-be debuted the new hue on her blog, and thanks to the different tones seen in her strands; it looks like the real deal. “I keep temporary pink hair dye in my shower for whenever I’m in the mood for a fun beauty look,” she explained in the post. “It’s a fun off-duty look for the weekend. But this time, I decided to take the plunge and try a semi-permanent color.”
It’s hardly the first time Conrad’s played with color, but she’s become braver recently thanks to her sultry spread for Allure. She even looked to other lavender locked lovelies like Nicole Richie for inspiration. “I really didn’t think that purple was my color, but after seeing several others wear it recently, I decided to give it a try. It just goes to show that you should never knock a trend until you try it,” she wrote.
If it is a prank, she’s gone above and beyond to rope everyone in. But as Richie opted to actually rock the look after it was discovered her original image was photoshopped, we can see Conrad trying this style with the colorful crowds at Coachella.
Update: She got us! Conrad came clean about her vivid violet locks Wednesday morning, sharing a snap of the original image on Instagram sans any pastel pigment. The caption? "April Fools!"
