Forbes's most powerful celebrity in the world is ready to hit the stage. Jennifer Lopez is the newest addition to the Sound for Change Live concert benefiting Gucci's Chime for Change initiative, adding to a campaign that's already towering with star power.
Gucci's creative director Frida Giannini teamed up with the global forces that are Beyoncé and Salma Hayek in March to launch Chime for Change, an international crusade for girls' and women's empowerment. As part of the philanthropic effort, the Queen B signed on for a charity concert in London where she will not only headline, but also serve as artistic director. With Lopez signing on for the spectacular, it makes for four hours of entertainment from a total of 10 acts including Rita Ora, John Legend, Florence + The Machine, and Ellie Goulding. Plus, it marks her first major performance since wrapping her Dance Again World Tour in December 2012.
The feel good doesn't stop there. Ticket sale proceeds have been underwritten by Gucci, guaranteeing that profits get donated to organizations that work to better the lives of girls and women all around the world. For as little as £55.00, you can get access to the Twickenham Stadium show; even if you don't call Londontown your home, you can still tune in to the affair, which will be broadcast live (with details to come).
In the meantime, visit ChimeforChange.org for more ways you can get involved... oh, and make sure to brush up on that “Jenny from the Block” choreography. We know you've got it in you!
