John Galliano's tenure at the venerable House of Dior has come to a sharp end. As Paris Fashion Week gets under way, the shocking news has insiders in a frenzy. According to the Associated Press, Christian Dior has fired its creative director John Galliano in lieu of an antisemetic tirade. Though he was suspended on February 24 pending further investigation, an online video of the creative eccentric in a drunken rage praising Hitler and shouting racial slurs at a Paris cafe was released on Monday. In a statement released this morning, the fashion house responded saying, “We unequivocally condemn the statements made by John Galliano which are in total contradiction to the longstanding core values of Christian Dior." The fashion house has plans to go forward with its show on Friday, and Galliano's show is still scheduled for Sunday.
