Celebrity stylist June Ambrose doesn't use the #rockmom hashtag in vain.

“Either way, for the kids, it has to be done before I start my day,” she told us after Richard Chai took his Fall 2014 bow at Lincoln Center. If you follow Ambrose on Instagram, then you know the socialite-meets-shoe designer is talking food.

Her myriad of stylish snapshots—featuring Jay Z, Mary J. Blige, and a bevy of covetable selfies—are punctuated with those of her two children, Summer and Chance, and the delectable, home-cooked meals she prepares for her brood. Though she started fashion week front row with back-to-back shows at BCBG Max Azria and Richard Chai, she started her parental duties even earlier.

“This morning I made dinner,” she added. “I try to cook before I leave the house or if I get home late tonight and I don’t have any functions, I’ll cook tonight for tomorrow.”

Family, food, and fashion—and in that order.

So what’s on the menu for the rest of the week?

“I do light, simple meals around this time. You know what’s really good around this time? Stew. I can put it on, go take a shower, do everything else, and take care of the kids while it’s cooking,” said Ambrose. “We’re also doing lots of vegetables this week. I’m doing low-carb, lots of protein, quinoa. And the kids are into it, so I’m lucky.”
