Karl Lagerfeld Gives the Dirndl a Punk Makeover
Looks like the influence of the Met's Punk: Chaos to Couture strikes again! Between prepping for his Mètiers d’Art show in Dallas, filming his new Coco Chanel documentary, and photographing Fendi's latest campaign, Karl Lagerfeld still found time to revamp the dirndl. Seriously!
According to Women's Wear Daily, Uncle Karl gave the Bavarian costume a punk outlook as part of a capsule collection to celebrate the opening of his Munich concept store in September. Featuring a white blouse and a pinafore with touches of black leather, the rock ‘n’ roll regalia will hit the new store in time for the 180th Oktoberfest.
Whether you rock the hard-edge ensemble at a beer garden in Munich during the 16-day beer festival, or nab the outfit in Berlin before the Punk im Pott festival in December, the Kaiser would approve.
