Karlie Kloss Gets Shady With Warby Parker

Do-gooder Karlie Kloss unveiled her latest project within the pages of the May issue of Vogue: a collection of sunglasses made in collaboration with Warby Parker benefiting Edible Schoolyard NYC. The organization works with NYC public schools to build gardens and kitchen classrooms where children can engage in hands-on learning. When Warby Parker cofounders Neil Blumenthal and Dave Gilboa met the model at a charity basketball tournament they were hosting, it was quickly decided that they’d collaborate on a project.

The capsule collection, which launches in June, includes three pairs of glasses featuring ombre lenses and seventies-influenced shapes and “reflect Kloss’s all-American personal style.” And certainly, the efforts behind the line highlight her dedication to giving back however she can. As the “k”reator of Karlie’s Kookies and an Edible Schoolyard volunteer, it’s no secret that Kloss gives meaning to the phrase “role model.” Of the project, she says, “It’s an incredible way to make a larger social impact while creating something beautiful and fun.”
