Kate Uptonis quickly adding many a respectable cover to her portfolio—launching from the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue to Vogue Italia to another SI Swimsuit issue to Vogue UK. Though she's graced the inside pages of American Vogue, she's never snagged a cover, until now.
Whispers, (which according to Fashionista are turning into pretty loud shouts) are swirling, claiming that the beauty is in fact slated to cover the June issue of the glossy. Given the theme of the issue—"summer escapes," Upton could very well be styled in something skimpy, serving as our own beach body inspiration. But then again, this is Vogue we're talking about, so it's also highly likely that she'll appear in an enviable runway look, sun-kissed and ready for summer.
Should Upton score the cover, she'd be the first model to grace the fashion bible since Kate Moss appeared on the September 2011 issue. Prior to Moss' latest moment, Gisele Bündchen had April 2010 covered. The magazine relies heavily on celebrity appeal to move issues on the newsstands so giving Upton the honors would mean Anna Wintour had extreme faith in the model's mass appeal.
