Katie Holmes and Suri make up one of our favorite Hollywood mother-daughter duos. And with the brand new role the actress is taking on, we have to imagine that she’s kept that special relationship in mind.
Holmes will direct (and also star in) her first film, based on the Annie Weatherwax book All We Had, about a poverty-stricken mother and daughter. “It’s something that I’ve always wanted to do,” Holmes said. “These characters are unique…Their dialogue is so honest and that’s not always seen on-screen between mother and daughter. I think it has the potential to feel like movies that inspired me when I was growing up, like Alice Doesn’t live Here Anymore and Terms of Endearment.”
We can’t wait to see what comes of her directorial debut!
