The recently named creative director of Versace’s Versus line will see a serious buzz boost as he curates a collection of makeup must-haves with Lancôme, which will hit European shelves in October. Net-a-Porter will exclusively host the collaboration stateside, but there’s no word yet on when they’ll pop up. He follows in some very fashionable footsteps, joining the ranks of Jason Wu, Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz, and Proenza Schouler.
While the details of the collection itself are under tight wraps, the designer wants to tap into the brand’s heritage of understated beauty. “I was inspired by the Lancôme woman’s femininity and charisma – a special kind of elegance that’s never lifeless nor frozen,” he said in a statement. “For me, Lancôme embodies the philosophy of understated beauty. It’s something quintessentially French.”
Given Vaccarello’s penchant for expressive eye ideas and punched up pouts, we’re sure to see a smoldering shadow palette, a luxe liquid liner, and a vibrant array of lip colors to spice up our fall and winter beauty looks.
