Leandra Medine Pens the Art of Man Repelling for First Book

From blog posts to books, Leandra Medine is going beyond her widely popular site, The Man Repeller, with “a series of essays about [her] life, from childhood through high school, college at The New School, her blog’s success and her wedding,” Women’s Wear Daily reports.

She’s spilling it all, in chapters that are coincidentally, named after pieces of clothing like M.C. Hammer-esque pants. She details how she came up with the term “man repeller,” wanting to dress like the Spice Girls when she was younger—but really who didn’t?—and even her decision to marry. But it wasn’t easy.

Some parts of the book had to be rewritten several times. “I felt bad that I couldn’t articulate what I thought,” Medine told WWD. “I have always, always loved words. Nothing feels better than constructing a beautiful sentence.” We couldn't agree more!

Medine’s book, Man Repeller: Seeking Love. Finding Overalls will be on sale September 10th, just in case you need reading material during Fashion Week.
