Lela Rose Spring 2014

INSPIRATION: Danish industrial designer Arne Jaconbsen, renowned for his Egg and Swan chair designs. Rose integrated elements of “curvilinear shapes and quirky geometry” from his structural creations into her collection as an homage to what her show notes declare “the most iconic pieces of the 20th Century.”

TRENDS: Sheer panels, tweed, speckled jacquard, piped seams, neon, silk, cape jackets, and trench coats.

PALETTE: Light blue, citrine, white, black, ivory, pale pink, vivid pink, lilac, and mint green.

WHO WAS THERE: Linda Fargo, Brittany Snow, celebrity chef Gail Simmons, and Robert Verdi.

WHO SHOULD WEAR IT: Uptown sophisticates who favor bright color, art gallery curators, and ladies who lunch.

PLAYLIST: “Paint a Smile on Me” by Black Yaya, “The Jerk” by Electric Guest.
