Let’s Toast to the Soap Stars

Daytime television just won’t be the same… All My Children and One Life to Live have been on the air for a combined 84 years, and as of yesterday, they are officially been canceled. These soap operas have withstood the test of time (or so we thought!); but as they say, no good thing ever dies (especially when our favorite characters constantly come back to life). So, with a bittersweet sentiment, we toast to the shows and their legendary leading ladies.

Erica’s Fusion
After 10, 596 episodes, a stiff drink is well deserved! Seven of Erica Kane’s marriages to six different men have been valid; while four of her other marriages were deemed invalid. Elegant and classy (just like the beloved character), this take on a martini is befitting of the Emmy-award winning (nominated 21 times!) actress Susan Lucci and her years on All My Children.

Viva La Viki and Niki
Erika Slezak joined One Life to Live in 1971. Eight Emmy awards later, her long journey portraying Victoria “Viki” Lord Banks has finally come to an end. As the longest standing daytime TV personality ever, Viki was widowed three times, shot, divorced, and suffered from a stroke, breast cancer, heart disease, and split personality disorder. Toast Viki’s passion and dedication to life and her family with the award-winning Flor de Caña 7 year Grand Reserve Rum.
