Kate Spade took back its fragrance license from Elizabeth Ardan and came out swinging with the news that brand will self-launch it's next scent: Live Colorfully. Though unusual, this isn't unheard of as Oscar de la Renta won back his fragrance license from L'Oreal back in 2009.
"We're control freaks," said Deborah Lloyd, the brand's president and creative director. "We know our girl so intimately, it felt natural to do it our way from start to finish. We felt if we had the hands on involvement, it would drive the creativity of the project. And it's an exclamation point to our 20th anniversary. It marks where we've been and where we're going."
Lloyd told Women's Wear Daily, that "Live Colorfully literally embodies the core values of Kate Spade New York: colorful, bold, playful, sophisticated and timeless." We can't wait to get a whiff!
Live Colorfully will be available in April at Kate Spade stores and KateSpade.com for $24-$95.
