J. Crew President and Executive Creative Director Jenna Lyons has helped to revamp the company from a catalogue staple to a true lifestyle brand since coming since taking the reigns in 2010. Glam chatted up the creative force in the American Express Skybox after J. Crew’s colorful presentation on Tuesday to find out what shows she checked out so far and what is a must in her Fashion Week survival kit.
How have you been holding up during Fashion Week?
Other than running a bit of a fever, I’m ok! I know I’ve gotten a little sick along the way.
Have you had a chance to check out some of the other shows?
I did. I got to see Derek Lam, which was beautiful. I got to see Altuzarra, which was amazing. I got to see Prabal Gurung, which was incredibly beautiful. Creatures of the Wind I thought was great. It’s been fun.
What do you have in your Fashion Week survival kit?
I have these totally awesome little things called Wisps. I’m obsessed with them. They’re these little toothbrushes. I love them. I always have them for my son on the plane. They’re in my survival kit. They’re amazing!
If you weren’t involved in fashion, what would your career choice be?
Probably interior design.
