Even as New York Fashion Week approaches, we’re still caught in the whirlwind of awards season. So we could only imagine what Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig must be going through as they not only prep Hollywood's brightest for the biggest night while putting the finishing touches on the their fall 2014 collection and launching the second part of their collaboration with Revlon.
There’s no slowing down for Chapman after the last model walks the runway, as she’s slated to attend the BAFTAs with hubby Harvey Weinstein in support of August: Osage County and Philomena. Craig on the other hand, will seek out a sweet winter escape upstate.
But the ladies felt fully prepared should any starlet need a gown the night of. “The good news is that we always make a lot of dresses for people to choose from fresh from the runway,” Chapman laughed. “It’s always been the way, so we don’t know any different.”
Just don’t expect the pair to know who will hit the red carpet in one of their confections. “Each of the girls are lovely in their own right,” she continued, “People think we’re making it up, but until they hit the red carpet, you never know.”
As for their latest offerings with Revlon, Craig and Chapman both wanted to add their elegant spin on tweezers, mirrors, and more because pretty products make people happy and a nail file is always necessary. “We’d though we’d take this lace design that was featured heavily in our spring/summer collection, so the contrasts were really great,” Craig explained. “With the nail appliques, we they were very textural like the beading would look great against the prints on the tools.” And Chapman agreed, “We wanted it to be glamorous. We wanted it to be something a woman would want to put in her bag. I think the nail files are really useful, and it’s always great to have something you can easily see in your bag; it’s fun!”
