Margarita Day Madness: 6 Recipes You Have to Sip
Cinco de May is still a few months away and unfortunately, so is the warm weather. Thankfully, Margarita Day is on Feb. 22nd allowing us all to imbibe the classic cocktail. If you’re looking for a fun twist on the swirl of spirits, these recipes are sure to provide a sweet escape until spring:
Basil ‘Rita from STK
2 oz. Don Julio Reposado
½ oz. Triple sec
½ oz Fresh sour
1 Lime squeezed
Basil
Muddle the basil and lime juice in cocktail shaker before adding the tequila, triple sec, fresh sour mix, and ice. Shake and strain into a tumbler.
Perfectly Peachy Margarita

2 oz. Sauza Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
½ oz. DeKuyper Peach Schnapps
½ oz. JDK & Sons™ O3 Premium Orange Liqueur
1 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice
½ part Peach Nectar
Peach wedge for garnish
In a pitcher filled with ice, combine the tequila, peach schnapps, orange liqueur, lime juice and peach nectar. Stir to combine. Chill and serve over ice in prepared glasses.
Blood Orange Margarita

2 oz. Cruz Reposado Tequila
1/2 oz. Cointreau Orange Liqueur
1/2 oz. agave nectar
1/2 oz. blood orange squeezed
1 lime squeezed
1-2 oz. filtered water
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain over fresh ice. Garnish with a blood orange slice
Slim and Sparkling Lemon Lime Margarita

3 oz. Lemon Lime Sparkling ICE
1 ½ oz. Tequila
Splash of fresh squeezed orange
Fresh squeezed lime
Shake and pour into a chilled rocks glass rimmed in salt. Garnish with a lime slice.
Wise Margarita
1 oz. fresh pressed watermelon juice
1 oz. Owl’s Brew Pink & Black
1 oz. tequila
Shake over ice with mint, and garnish with mint, lime, and watermelon.
Rita Rioja

1 ½ oz. Tequila Avión Reposado
¾ oz. Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
¾ oz. Simple Syrup (equal parts sugar and water)
Fresh Red Pepper
Cilantro
Muddle a fresh red pepper and a few leaves of cilantro in a cocktail shaker. Add the tequila, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup. Fill cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a salt rimmed cocktail glass.
