Match Your Mani to Your Favorite Fall Method Print
Yesterday, I headed to the roof of the Hotel Giraffe with Tend’s Lauren Barth to find out what the brand had up its sleeve for the season. Along with the first trigger-powered foaming dish soap, the brand has 4 new limited edition scents – in plumeria (floral), dulce de leche (gourmand), silver birch (woody), and beach sage (aqua) – which will hit shelves in the form of hand wash for all, and dish soap, all-purpose cleaner, and laundry detergent (beach sage only).
To celebrate, we were all invited to receive a mani featuring one of the pretty patterns on the home products designed by none other than Miss Pop Nails herself. While plumeria’s gradient and dulce de leche’s dots were quite tempting, we couldn’t resist the calming allure of blue sage. Here’s how you can re-create the look at home:
After filing and buffing, apply your base coat. If you’re a messy manicurist like myself, you can swipe Kiesque’s Liquid Palisade on your cuticles and around the nail bed so errant polish won’t stick to your skin.
Next, apply two coats of Essie’s Where’s My Chauffeur? to each nail and allow it to dry for at least 10 minutes.
Then paint a few grass-like stripes on the nails you want, using Q-Art Paint in Blue, then QRS Nail Art Paint in Pearl Green, next in Hot Green, and finally use CC Nail Art Polish in Sky Blue. Be sure to leave a little space between the stripes for each layer so all colors can show through.
Add a high gloss topcoat like Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat, and after five minutes you can remove the Liquid Palisade and you’re set!
