Mathieu Mirano Fall 2014
DESIGNER: Mathieu Mirano
INSPIRATION: For Mirano’s first runway show (he’s held four presentations at Lincoln Center in seasons past), the 22-year-old designer tapped into his inner tailor, sending structured, sleek, strong looks down The Pavilion’s center aisle. Like his lingerie-inspired Spring 2014 offering, he kept things sexy without crossing the line; and, like he did for Fall 2013, showed that he knows a thing or three about fur.
PALETTE: Black, navy, grey, lilac, copper, silver, winter white
TRENDS: Bonded leather, motorcycle jackets, motorcycle trenches, fur coats, fitted bodices, neoprene, fringe, suede, metallics, strapless dresses, pencil skirts.
WHO WAS THERE: Harper’s Bazaar executive fashion and beauty editor Avril Graham, Nicole Trunfio, Lydia Hearst, singer Lily Lane.
WHO SHOULD WEAR IT: Ciara, Kelly Rowland, and practically anyone styled Marni Senofonte.
