Lancôme is going back to its fashionable French roots with it latest ambassador, Caroline de Maigret.
For those unfamiliar with de Maigret, she’s a model, music producer, and muse whose “ultra-chic casualness” has landed her on best dressed lists across the pond for years. This could be linked to her own aristocratic roots: she the granddaughter of a minister, who is a descendent of a Polish king and French empress. “Caroline has this very French form of curiosity and creativity that can be applied with an open mind to extremely varied fields, from art to music, from beauty to fashion,”Francoise Lehmann, General Manager of Lancôme International, noted in a statement.
De Maigret marks a decided turn for the brand that’s boasted some of Hollywood brightest stars like Lupita Nyong’o, Kate Winslet, Julia Roberts, and Penelope Cruz (just to name a few). The multihyphenate will star in the beauty brand’s upcoming campaign in September as she hits the road to promote her French lifestyle tome, How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are: Love, Style, and Bad Habits. But even better, she’ll collaborate with Lancôme on an original makeup collection that will hit shelves in 2015 and channel de Maigret’s joie de vivre. "I am delighted by this collaboration, which is unlike any other and which truly reflects Lancôme," she said. "It's the beginning of a lovely adventure with this brand that I love so much. A brand that offers a different vision of femininity: one that is free, intelligent, and that touches both the heart and mind."
