Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2014

DESIGNER: Michael Kors

TRENDS: Kors did away with the phrase “pre,” instead calling his collection “trans-seasonal.” The designer featured layered looks with masculine flair that aligned with the idea of a “trans-season.” This included oversized coats and knits, slouchy trousers and big blazers, oxford shirts, and pleated skirts. Jeweled embellishments, leather loafers and sneakers, and tailored satchels were the perfect finishing touches.

THE INSPIRATION: Modernized menswear that's “sexy and slouchy at once.”

THE PALETTE: Camel, cornflower blue, red, black, light charcoal. Metallic jacquard and paisley were the leading prints.

WHO SHOULD WEAR IT: Style stars who have proven unafraid to dabble in boyish trends, like Kate Mara, Alexa ChungDiane Kruger, Kate Bosworth, and Michelle Williams.
