Designer: Michael Kors
Inspiration: A modern take on ‘70s style Palm Springs resort wear.
Trends: Kors focused on sleek tailoring with long proportions and clean lines, from sleek wide-legged trousers paired with belted coats to midi skirts with tucked in blouses to showcase cinched waists. While monochromatic styling consisting of camel on camel, white on white, and black on black, provided for a high-class look, the line also featured strategic color-blocking and carefully placed safari prints for a lively effect. Lucite details, bold wedges, and shackle like cuffs and necklaces were especially contemporary. From cut-out bathing suits to sequined column gowns, the collection truly provided from morning to midnight.
Palette: camel, tan, snakeskin, black, gold, leopard and giraffe print, white, clear, aqua, pink, metallics.
Who Should Wear It: Only the classically classiest of ladies. Jennifer Lopez (who did, actually, rocking the collection’s animal print shiny floor length dress to the MET Gala last month), Nicole Richie, Victoria Beckham.
