Michelle Obama is quite a bit of fashionable fresh air for the White House. Our FLOTUS is always decked out in the perfect mix of high-low choices--off-the-rack-fare sprinkled in with top designer pieces. But if there was ever a question as to who was paying for our First Lady’s clothing, don't fret: it’s not you, dear taxpayer.
“Mrs. Obama pays for her clothing,” Joanna Rosholm, Obama’s press secretary said. “For official events of public or historic significance, such as a state visit, the first lady’s clothes may be given as gifts by a designer and accepted on behalf of the U.S. government. They are then stored by the National Archives.”
In other fashionable Obama news, our president revealed that his oldest daughter, Malia, 15, went on her first prom!
“Malia did have her first prom,” the POTUS said during his first appearance on Live! With Kelly and Michael. He didn’t say to much, joking, “I think this is all classified information.”
“I think it’s fair to say that the first time you see your daughter in heels is a little bit… jarring,” Obama continued.
While we agree that this is probably classified information, we would love to see what Mr. and Mrs Obama’s eldest daughter wore. Perhaps her mother lent her a designer piece?
