Monique Lhuillier Fall 2015
Designer: Monique Lhuillier
Inspiration: “Fluid silhouettes inspired by the seductive 1920s are contrasted by modern, structured shoulders and tailoring to create dramatic lines.” Movement and a certain freedom was evident for Lhuillier’s Fall 2015: the runway was corset-free and there was an ease we hadn’t seen from Lhuillier before. Which makes the designation of Kate Moss as muse an obvious one. This season also doubled as Lhuillier’s accessories debut: sandals, boots, booties, pumps, and clutches in “confident and alluring” designs will be available for sale, soon.
Trends: mid-calf skirts, cigarette pants, draping, satin, shimmer, sheer cut-outs, mink and fox jackets
Palette: emerald, cobalt, violet, teal, moss, ochre, plum, and midnight blue
Who was there: Louise Roe, Brad Goreski, Alexandra von Furstenberg, Neiman Marcus fashion director Ken Downing.
Who should wear it: Red carpet winners who always end up on the best-dressed list, girls getting glam for an annual gala.
The playlist: “The Apartment” and “Night Drive” by Giorgio Moroder, “Concerto Pour Violon (Deuxième Mouvement)” by Adela Anthony
