Music Musings: Jay Z and Beyonce Go On the Run with Stadium Tour
While the rest of the world is sleeping tomorrow morning, we, and all other members of the Beyhive, will be refreshing our web browsers to land pre-sale tickets for Jay Z and Beyoncé’s On The Run Tour.
This morning, Billboard’s powerful pair (finally!) announced dates to their anticipated summer run, named after Jay’s Magna Carta Holy Grailduet. The Carters will kick off the jaunt on June 25th in Miami; play another 12 U.S. dates with stops in Dallas, Atlanta, and Los Angeles; then climax in San Francisco on August 5th, with enough time to rest up for the UK leg of the show. Though Jay and Bey favor Barclays Center for their New York City stop, the closest engagement revealed will run at MetLife Stadium (home of Super Bowl XLVIII, with seating for more than 82,000). It’s a stadium tour, after all.
The discreet duo are actively promoting the show—Bey on her eponymous domain, Jay on Facebook—with help from tour sponsor Chase on Twitter. Ticket prices are expected to run from $53—$252, and will be open to the general public on Friday, May 2nd. That is, if you haven’t signed up for Beyoncé.com’s exclusive newsletters or aren’t in possession of a Chase card. We’re trying to help you out here!
In honor of getting our lives this summer, and perhaps catching a glimpse or two of baby Blue in the flesh, here’s a playlist of the ’03 Bonnie & Clyde’s best duets.
