Your favorite host’s favorite host is headed to the Academy Awards!
“It is truly an honor and a thrill to be asked to host this year’s Academy Awards. I grew up watching the Oscars and was always in such awe of some of the greats who hosted the show,” Harris said in a statement from The Academy. “To be asked to follow in the footsteps of Johnny Carson, Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres, and everyone else who had the great fortune of hosting is a bucket list dream come true.”
NPH’s turn follows the Academy Awards’ best broadcast to date: DeGeneres’ 2014 gig drew in the biggest audience in 14 years with 45.4 million viewers. Something tells us Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs thinks NPH will be able to deliver, and even top, those stats.
