The BCBGMAXAZRIA show always feels like the first day of school. And this morning Max and Lubov Azria certainly brought the excitement. Colorblocking has become one of the brand's signatures and for Fall 2012, artful proportions created a gorgeous architectural effect. Playing with shape, color, and new elongated proportions, looks were both sophisticated and subtly sexy.

Paprika, ambrosia, and macchiato made a spicy statement, while also serving as the new neutrals. Green ochre, teal, and lemongrass left the runway popping. Standout pieces included a cream and taupe canvas and leather trench and a black georgette pleated and colorblocked dress. Rich textures, geometric shapes and contrasting hues made for a harmonious aesthetic we couldn't help but admire.
