Donna Karan's cool New York girl got a polished makeover this season. The DKNY Spring 2011 collection reflected a well traveled Manhattanite with a sophisticated sensibility. Classic colors like black, white, beige, blue, and red were mixed in a variety of prints and ensembles; particular attention was paid to creating timeless pieces that every woman should own. A flattering trench, cropped pant, and crisp white shirt should serve as the foundation for every woman's wardrobe next Spring. Karan also introduced the DKNY "Heritage" scarf which was shown on the runway as a necktie, dress, and shirt. The bold backdrop with images of NYC put the calm and collected DKNY darling in the midst of the city's creative chaos.
