Last night we headed backstage before Suno’s Fall 2012 show to get a peek at the makeup look set to hit the catwalk. MAC’s Carole Colorbani explained her inspiration for the look: ’90s girls.
“She’s a party girl, like Kate Moss when she first started – that shiny, glossy effect of the eye,” she said.
To get the retro look, she started with a fresh face by applying MAC’s Face & Body Foundation with her hands and dotting a bit of Cremeblend Blush onto the cheeks. For the eyes she swept a pressed pigment in Deeply Dashing all around the eye and usuing the pigment to line underneath the eye before using MAC Pro Shine to add a glossy effect to the lids. She skipped the mascara and lipstick, opting to ensure the lips were moisturized.
Overall, she wanted a rough, more masculine look for such a feminine collection. “All of the prints and everything were very pretty, and I didn’t want to come out with all this ‘pretty girl’ makeup,” she said. “I wanted to her to be a bit more tough, more strong.”
