#NYFW Lela Rose’s Spring 2011 Collection

Lela Rose's Spring 2011 collection was inspired by the city of Lima, Peru–a place she would love to visit but has yet to experience first hand. The city's flavor manifested itself in a diverse mix of vibrant fabrics and unique patterns. Metallic tweeds, pebbled stretch cotton, Cajamarca printed silk and embroidered tulle, recall old world Peruvian textiles. Embroidered sequins and thread woven beads added a delicate, yet sophisticated flair. Guests, including 90210's Jessica Lowndes, and Shantel VanSanten nodded in approval as short dresses, striped separates and bold accents made their way down the runway. . Both Lowndes and VanSanten had never been to one of Rose's shows before. “This is actually my first experience at fashion week…I have always had it booked but conflicts arose with shooting, so I am really excited to be here!” said Jessica. Rose also showed her latest collection for Payless, which includes five key styles with old-meets-new inspirations; it's due to hit Payless stores in February. ~Tania Sarraf
